5
Perhaps THE single most legendary fragrance of the last 100 years, Chanel No. 5 was created in 1921 by Ernest Beaux, and it's fair to say that it has been a success! Read a little anecdotal story about it, here in our blog.
Innovative top notes of Aldehydes work alongside Petitgrain and move to a heart of Jasmine, Lilac, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Violet and Ylang with a base of Musk, Peru Balsam and Tonka notes.
There's an urban myth that suggests Chanel 5 popularity is largely down to last minute gift shopping by husbands, boyfriends and sons... desperately scouring the shelves and spotting the fragrance that they've ALL heard about... that's not true, honestly, it's because it's just such a timeless fragrance!
5 contains very small amounts of the raw material Lilial which has been limited by the EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulations (1272/2008) - these changes allow for the use of Lilial in non-cosmetic products such as candles, melts, diffusers etc as long as it is contained within those products at < (less than) 0.3%.
5 contains Lilial at < 1% which equates to a level of < 0.1% in product format assuming it is dosed at 10% into a non-cosmetic product making 5 permissible for use as it is less than the 0.3% limit. Lilial should not be used within fragrance oils used for cosmetic formats such as soap and skincare.
For your peace of mind we are pleased to confirm that with the exception of Black Leather, Fantasia, 5 & The Man (all permissible for use in non-cosmetic formats as detailed above), all of our fragrance oils are completely free from Lilial and do not require modification leading to changes in fragrance character or your labelling etc, and that all future fragrance oils introduced into our range will be free from Lilial completely.

IMPORTANT BITS OF INFO FOR YOU
Free Delivery available within the UK on orders over £50. Please visit here for delivery info.
Quantities Available - We offer 20g, 50g, 200g, 500g, 1kg, 2kg and 4kg options - subject to stock levels of course. We have chosen to opt for 4kg rather than 5kg due to the simple fact that the relative density of oils will differ from oil to oil, making it uncertain as to whether it will be possible to get 5kg of oil into a 5 Litre container. Whereas we can be certain that 4kg of oil will fit into a 5 Litre container!
We can also offer 8kg options on many of our oils as a special order and would ask you to get in touch here to let us know which oils you're interested in.. we can then advise on cost, lead time etc
IMPORTANT: IFRA49/50- The documents you can download for all of the oils we offer are IFRA49 & IFRA50 compliant, therefore showing you the allowable dosages that you need to consider under current IFRA guidelines.
ALSO IMPORTANT: Mintlactone? - IFRA are in the process of prohibiting the use of this raw material within their 50th amendment. We can confirm that no fragrance oil made available through Fragrance Liaison Ltd in the past, currently or indeed in the future will contain Mintlactone. Please click here for more info.
ALSO ALSO IMPORTANT: LILIAL? - With the exception of 4 oils our range is Lilial free and have been from day one of trading. Those 4 oils containing Lilial can still be used within candles, melts, diffusers, room sprays etc. For a detailed explanation head here.
